Overview

Since its beginning 17 years ago in Watson Lake and Whitehorse, the PGI Yukon Golf Tournament for Literacy has become the largest fundraiser for literacy in the territory. About 70 cents of every dollar raised goes directly to adult learning programs supported by Yukon Learn Society.

Every year Yukoners - business owners, entertainers, politicians, and other influential people - participate in the annual tournament held at Mountain View Golf Course.  They are joined by dozens of volunteers and by "learners" (the beneficiaries of our sponsors' generosity). They are also joined by some national sponsors and celebrities.

The success of the PGI's depends on the support of individuals and corporations in each location. This support comes in various forms and includes not only golfers, but also hole sponsorships, prize donations and volunteer time. Many of our corporate sponsors have a long history of sponsoring literacy through the PGI.  Not only do they lend their support through generous financial and in-kind donations, but representatives from these organizations attend the tournaments to help celebrate literacy. Some of our corporate patrons are also committee members and volunteers.

We invite you to become part of a unique fundraising experience that promotes and celebrates literacy!
