PGI Golf Tournament 2009
Steering Committee Members Needed

 

It's time to start the planning for the 2009 PGI Golf Tournament for Literacy and volunteer PGI committee members are needed. Do you have an area of expertise that would be helpful to the planning of the 2009 PGI, because we need you!! Come join in on the planning, meet great people, have loads of fun, and help raise money for Literacy activities. Time: 1 hour per month from October - April; 2 - 3 hours per month May; 20 hours June.  Meetings are held at 5:30 pm, the first Wednesday of every month; increasing closer to the actual tournament date.

 

Help Required: Steering Committee Members are relied on to locate sponsorship dollars and help with the preparations for the tournament. Steering Committee Members are fundraiser's and Yukon Learn staff organizers. Members volunteer for the day of the tournament and in the week prior to it at associated events and promotional opportunities.

 

Skills Needed: A basic understanding of golf and/or an enjoyment of the game is helpful. As committee members are relied on to locate sponsors, contributors, entertainers and volunteers, those with community contacts are valued.

 

The golf tournament is a lot of fun and duties are varied. There are lots of volunteer tasks to choose from. The steering committee has been together for many years so training is available for new members.
