Geared towards basic training on all essential skills. Designed for learners who must learn again to read, write and use basic math skills. Tutors are recruited for one-on-one training. |

Includes time spent on terminology, technology, computer maintenance, typing, and the use of the Internet. A quick Introduction to office software programs are also included. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access). |

Introduction to Internet & Email
Introductory course to using the internet for personal and work related tasks. Basic concepts regarding the Internet and Email are explored as well as an introduction to using different types of email programs. |
Computer Basics or previous computer experience |
Begin to understand how to search for information on the Internet and use different search engines. Discussion of using information on the world wide web and the quality of information. Learn the differences of webmail based email programs (ISP and Internet) and MS Outlook. You will have the opportunity to set up an email account using free web-based webmail where you can compose messages and manage your correspondence. |

MS Word Beginner 2003 & 2007
Office workspace basics; creating and editing text, formatting text, designing page layouts. |

This is an introductory class to learn how to word process using Microsoft Word. You will learn the different uses of a Word document, basic formatting, selected template use (resumes), spacing, paragraph layout, document design (headers, footers, etc) and printing options. |

MS Word Advanced – 2003 and 2007
This is a continuum of the beginner level where advanced uses of templates will be explored as well as inserting other files and objects. Learn how to use pre-formatted styles and Headings, charts, watermarks and backgrounds as well as mail merging, macros, forms and hyperlinks. |

Learn how to create and edit workbooks and work with functions. Formatting workbooks and adding charts and pictures are included in the beginner level. . |

Navigating the workbook; selecting cells and moving cells; calculations, functions and formulas; function arguments and specifying conditions; formatting, autocorrect and auto fill; using drawing tools and inserting graphics. |

Learn how to use formatting and functions. Use templates and workbooks to create and analyze data. Use macros and auditing tools and share workbooks. |

Using formulas in conditional formats; linking workbooks, importing data from other applications, publishing data to the web; using PivotTables; using charts and trend lines; macros; sharing and protecting workbooks. |

Learn how to create a basic PowerPoint which includes: adding and formatting text, customizing your Presentation with shapes, pictures, objects and effects. |

Learn how to create a database and work with tables, design tables, create and run queries. You will be introduced to using forms and learn how to generate reports. |

Learn how to navigate Outlook and manage your messages. Maintain your contacts and coordinate your calendars. Schedule tasks and organize your information. Using Outlook as your main email program and synchronizing webmail is explored. |

Use the Navigation Pane and work with Folders. Read and reply to an email; add an attachment; flag messages for follow-up; add a signature and format messages; add contacts, view and modify or delete a contact; schedule appointments; plan, schedule and respond to a meeting request; create, assign, respond and delegate tasks; keep notes and manage folders; design custom views. |
